HERITAGE

An inheritance of enterprise

His family’s financial legacy extends more than 150 years, with a history that traces to the House of Herrera in the Kingdom of Castilla, Spain. Across successive generations, the family has been active in banking, commerce and real estate in Latin America and the Caribbean, including the establishment and leadership of Banco Caracas.

For Herrera Velutini, this inheritance provides the context for a distinctly international career: one that connects institution-building with the long-term stewardship of family capital.

ENTERPRISE & CONTINUITY

Institutions. Investments. Legacy.

01 / INSTITUTIONS

Building across borders

Following senior leadership roles at Banco Real, Banco Activo and Bolívar Banco Universal in Venezuela, Herrera Velutini founded Bancrédito International Bank & Trust Corporation in Puerto Rico in 2008. The institution developed its international wealth management capabilities before completing the sale of its banking assets in 2022.

He subsequently founded Britannia Wealth Management in Geneva and established Britannia Financial Group in London. The group’s businesses span investment banking, securities brokerage, wealth management, electronic payments and private banking.

His founding of Emirates Financial Group in the United Arab Emirates extended his financial interests into the Middle East, connecting institutional capital, private wealth and cross-border investment opportunities.

02 / STEWARDSHIP

Capital with a longer horizon

Alongside his operating businesses, Herrera Velutini oversees Banvelca Trust, the family’s private trust company, whose history extends more than two centuries. It is the principal vehicle for the family’s long-term investment strategy, with interests in financial institutions across Europe, North America, Latin America and the Middle East.

That remit has expanded through the establishment of a U.S. trust company overseeing a growing portfolio of domestic investments and projects. Patient capital and multigenerational stewardship remain central to the family’s approach.

03 / CULTURE

Beyond banking

His investment interests also encompass media, real estate, technology and cultural initiatives. Through Intermedia Limited and related enterprises, he has supported independent media and strategic communications.

The family’s philanthropic activities focus on education, healthcare, youth development and the preservation of artistic and cultural heritage. Together with its financial interests, these activities reflect an approach to legacy that extends beyond the balance sheet.

A family legacy, carried forward through enterprise.
